Review

The Reverb O’Drive is a free standing all-valve spring reverb based on the classic early 1960’s reverb units, now combined with a valve overdrive and reverb boost.

Perfect for shimmering, clean Rock ‘n’ Roll, faithfully reproducing the pre-rock era’s tones - Rockabilly, Blues, Surf and Soul - a touch of Sun Studios, Stax or Dick Dale in a box.

To make the unit more versatile, Torres have added an overdrive control to push an amp a little harder towards blues/rock.

The Reverb O’Drive is a two-in-one unit, designed to be used as either reverb, overdrive or both. It sits in-line between the guitar and the amp, effecting the signal before the amplifier in the classic way, with a full range of tone, dwell (depth), reverb boost and overdrive controls offering sounds ranging from subtle to extreme.

Special features of the Reverb O’Drive are its use of the new-old-stock 6K6 valve, for authentic vintage tone, hand-built point-to-point wiring, foot-switchable reverb.

Because of the all valve design the Reverb O’Drive can also be regarded as pre-amp, adding valve warmth and/or extra gain to any amp or PA.

The unit is available for £464 or as a kit for you to make up yourself price £340.

London alt-country/americana band Morning Bride spent December recording using the Reverb O-Drive and a selection of Torres amps. The superb results can be heard on their debut album “Lea Valley Delta Blues” out March 12th on Letterbox Records. By the way you can hear this via the download address/URL:
