| Build your own amplifier - sound crazy? No, plenty of guys are doing just that. No experience necessary, full instructions included. So many famous brand amps on the market now are built using poor construction techniques, like mounting valves directly onto printed circuit boards! All our designs are hand-wired on eyeletted circuit boards - takes time but your amp will last and last, and sounds sooo goood! |

Our Standard Range of Build-Your-Own Amp Kits have been specifically selected to give you all you need to build yourself a top quality, hand-wired valve amplifier. Kits include: instruction book, circuit board and diagram, components to be assembled on circuit board, valves, bases and retainers, power supply smoothing circuit (ie. filter capacitors & resistors), mains switches, all pots & knobs, miscellaneous hardware, jack sockets etc., reverb tank, transformers, cables and finally a wooden cabinet either ready built or flat packed with coverings. We also include a wiring kit but if you don't require this we are happy to reduce the price by £5.
Postage is not included and is usually between £10-£20 in the UK.
You can buy the instruction book first to check out the process and we'll refund you if you buy the kit.
Building an amp is a great learning experience for most of us. It can seem quite a daunting task to begin with but armed with a copy of Inside Tube Amps and an instruction book everything will start to make sense. Please refer to the Safety Note on the inside cover. Any reasonably practical person can construct an amplifier, but note that the more complex twin amps really need previous experience. When it comes to electrical testing you need to be competent around mains voltage or take it to someone who is at this stage.
You will need some basic equipment: 20/25W soldering iron, digital voltmeter and simple power and hand tools.
